Who this Coolife hardshell is for
This is the grey 20 inch member of Coolife’s ABS and polycarbonate family, a cabin sized hard shell aimed at the traveler who flies a few times a year, wants a built in lock, and is not buying on brand. The review base is large, at 4.5 from close to eleven thousand ratings and a rank of 49th in its Amazon category, which is the most useful thing an unbranded case can offer a buyer: a big enough pool of failure reports to read before committing.
The trip is three to five nights of sensible packing. This size does not expand, which the listing says twice, and only the 28 inch case in the family does. That is a constraint rather than a flaw. A case that cannot expand cannot be accidentally pushed out of a sizer, and it also cannot absorb what you bought on the trip. Decide which of those you care about before ordering.
Dimensions, and a family that publishes them inconsistently
The specification block gives 22 by 9 by 15 inches. Set against the size guideline most commonly cited for United States domestic cabin baggage, roughly 22 by 14 by 9 inches, that puts the case at the height limit, at the depth limit, and an inch over on width.
Two listings, one size, two answers
A near identical Coolife case in a different colorway publishes the same 20 inch size as 21 by 8.5 by 15 inches. Same family, same nominal size, two different exterior figures an inch apart on height and half an inch apart on depth. We are not choosing between them. We are telling you the family’s published dimensions are not consistent between colorways, which means the number on the listing page is not something to plan a gate crossing around. Neither listing states whether the wheels are included in the height. On a hard shell the spinner casters mount outside the shell, so a shell measurement understates what a sizer reads. We will not write that this case is airline approved, because no airline certifies luggage. Check the cabin allowance published by the airline and fare you booked, remember that budget and regional carriers are frequently stricter and that many international carriers weigh cabin bags as well, and measure the case yourself on arrival with the wheels and retracted handle included.
Shell, edges, wheels and handle

Coolife does not publish the ratio, so how much polycarbonate is in the mix is unstated.
The listing also calls out a beveled edge on the upper part of the shell to increase toughness. That is a real structural point rather than marketing language: a bevel adds stiffness along the edge that takes the worst of a conveyor drop. Whether it holds up is a question for the review base, not for a specification sheet.
Wheels are described as unique shaped multi directional silent wheels, with no count and no material given. Multi directional means spinner casters. Spinners roll sideways well on smooth terminal floors, badly on curbs and rough pavement where they catch and tip the case, and they are the component most likely to fail on any wheeled bag because they take every impact. Silent is a claim about the bearing and the tread, not about durability. The handle is an aluminum telescoping system, with no stage count or extended height published.
The lock is where the listing goes furthest wrong. Coolife writes that the TSA lock allows only TSA agents to inspect your bags. That is not accurate. TSA master keys have been widely reproduced and circulated for years, and a TSA lock is a screening convenience that stops your case being cut open, not a security device. It also does nothing about the zipper itself, which on any coil zipper can be split with a ballpoint pen and closed again by running the sliders across the split. Do not put anything you would mind losing behind it.
Capacity, weight and what the figures leave out
The listing publishes 38 liters and 6 pounds. The exterior of 22 by 9 by 15 inches works out to about 2,970 cubic inches, or roughly 48 liters of total envelope, so 38 liters of usable space after the shell thickness, the handle channel and the wheel housings is a plausible figure rather than an obviously inflated one. That is worth saying, because plenty of listings in this category publish capacities that cannot fit inside their own exteriors.
What the listing does not publish is interior dimensions. If you pack in cubes or fold to a system, that is the number you actually need, and you will have to measure it yourself. There is also no mention of what the interior lining is made of beyond it being lined, and no organizational detail beyond the presence of pockets.

Coolife publishes a worldwide two year warranty on this listing. A stated term with a stated geography is better than most of this price bracket manages, and it is worth noting that the near identical sibling listing publishes no warranty at all, which tells you the coverage is being described inconsistently across the family rather than applied inconsistently. Ask the seller to confirm which applies to the exact variant you order.
What the two year statement does not do is address airline handling damage. That is the standard exclusion across luggage warranties and it is the one that matters, because handling damage is how luggage actually breaks. A two year warranty that excludes conveyor damage covers manufacturing faults and very little else. Read the document before you assume a sheared caster is covered.

Measure the case, read your carrier’s allowance, and keep valuables with you.
